Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data we process, for what purposes, on what legal basis, and what rights you have — both on thepanoram.app website and in the Panoramapp (an interactive 3D map for natural destinations). It is governed byArgentine Law No. 25,326 on the Protection of Personal Data and its implementing regulations.

1. Data controller

2. What data we collect

On the website (panoram.app)

  • Anonymous analytics: we use PostHog to measure visits in aggregate. We do not record sessions, do not use event autocapture, and do not create profiles of identified individuals.
  • Technical data: as with any hosted site, IP address, device/browser type, and date/time may be logged for security and operation. Loading fonts (Google Fonts) involves a request to Google's servers.

In the app (Panoram)

  • Google account: access is provided through Google Sign-In (Firebase Authentication). We receive your email address, display name, and profile photo. We never know your password.
  • Location (GPS): if you grant permission, the app uses your device's location to show your position on the map.It is processed on your device and stored only temporarily in the browser's local storage; it is not transmitted to or stored on our servers.
  • Camera photos: if you use the camera, photos stayon your device (to download or share) and, in the current version, are not uploaded to our servers.

Today the chat assistant replies with predefined text: it does not process your messages with artificial intelligence, nor send them to a server. We do not display advertising or profile you for advertising purposes.

3. How we use your data

  • To authenticate you and grant access to the interactive experiences.
  • To show your position on the map and orientation features.
  • To provide destination content, routes, and points of interest.
  • To keep the app working offline.
  • To measure site usage in aggregate and improve the product.
  • To ensure security, prevent abuse, and diagnose errors.

4. Legal basis

Processing is based on your consent (for example, when signing in or granting location or camera permission), which you may withdraw at any time; on our legitimate interest in operating and securing the service; and on compliance with applicable legal obligations.

5. Third parties and data processors

  • Google / Firebase (Authentication, Hosting, Firestore, Storage): sign-in, hosting, and content storage.
  • PostHog: anonymous, aggregate website analytics.
  • Open-Meteo: destination weather information (receives the fixed destination coordinates, not your personal location).
  • Google Fonts and unpkg (CDN): typefaces and 3D-map libraries.

6. International data transfers

Some providers (e.g., Google and PostHog) store and process data on servers located outside Argentina. By using the site or the app, you understand that your data may be transferred internationally, subject to the safeguards provided by Law No. 25,326.

7. Cookies and local storage

We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. We use browser local storage to temporarily retain your location state, the Service Worker cache for offline use, and Firebase Auth's own storage to keep you signed in. You can clear this data from your browser settings.

8. Data retention

We retain your account data while you keep an active session or account and for as long as needed to fulfill the described purposes or applicable legal obligations. Location data and photos are not retained on our servers.

9. Minors

The app is intended for a general audience of visitors. If you are a minor, you should use it under the supervision of a responsible adult. We do not knowingly collect data from minors without appropriate consent.

10. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Your rights

Under Law No. 25,326, you have the right to access, rectify, update, and delete your personal data, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise these rights, write to privacidad@panoram.app.

Under Argentine law, the data subject may exercise the right of access free of charge at intervals of no less than six months, unless a legitimate interest is demonstrated (Art. 14(3), Law No. 25,326). The Agency for Access to Public Information (AAIP), the enforcement authority for Law No. 25,326, is empowered to hear complaints regarding non-compliance with personal data protection rules.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the product or in the law. We will publish the current version at this same address with its last-updated date. If we add further behavioral analytics, advertising, AI-based photo analysis, or other features involving new data processing, we will update this policy and, where applicable, request your consent.
